Just wanted to remind you that having a good secure password will make your experience with our service better.
If your password is too weak (is a dictionary word, too short, have your eBay user id), then some functions won't work (including sniping).
Please check this link for password suggestions if you experiencing problems with sniping:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/account/create-password.html#tips
Once you changed your password, you will have to relogin with your new password to update your changes.

Please keep your passwords in good condition (strong and secure).
Your snipe (and your winning success) depends on it.
There are some rules to follow when you choose your password:
1. Your password can not have a dictionary word inside.
2. Your password can not contain any parts of your User id.
3. Your password should have at least 1-2 digits.
4. Your password must be at least 8 characters long.

I set up myibay account using same password and user ID as is on ebay. Should I change both?

You just need to re-login into myibay with your new information.

I'm just trying out your software (1.0.38 build 342), and it won't let me log into eBay. I set my password to a very secure one (N01l00k$H3r3), based on this advice. Don't worry, I changed it to something else. I logged into eBay, changed my password there, went back to myibay, and still it couldn't log in.
I even tried variations that I thought could make it not work. I made all lowercase text passwords. I made passwords without any special characters. Still, nothing worked.

Please make sure that your firewall is not blocking the connection:

If you are still having the same problem, please send your eBay user id using this Contact form.

Bear with me if you please, I'm about to use this service for the 1st time and I need to be 100% sure I've got everything right...
Starting in reverse order:
> Your password must be at least 8 characters long: CHECK
> Your password should have at least 1-2 digits: CHECK
> Your password can not contain any parts of your User id/Your password can not have a dictionary word inside: NOT sure
Allow me to give an example or two:
Let's assume the User ID is WolverineBlues75 and the password Ent0mbed#75.
Is there a conflict in this case? The password is 11 characters long, includes uppercase & lowercase letters, 2 digits and special characters.
Still, you could say there is a common part (the last two characters)
...
Another one:
A user has chosen the following password:
LoveP0t1onN.09
It does include a dictionary word but is also followed by alphanumeric uppercase/lowercase characters as well as punctuation marks.
Will that be OK?

I do not set up those rules, eBay does.
From my own experience your Wolverine example should be fine.
Punctuations marks are fine too.

I need clarification on the password rules. When I click on the link, ebay says that passwords must be six characters, you say eight. I have been successful bidding directly using a seven charecter password. This is my first time trying the sevice so I'm just double checking.

nsmike55,
Having your password is always better. I put "8 characters" just to be on a stronger side.
If you feel having your password shorter should be okay (for example, your password has some special characters and is not a dictionary word), you should be fine too.
